April Quarterly

We had a great Quarterly.  The accommodations were superb, the meeting room was very accommodating, and the energy in the room awesome, filled with excitement, enthusiasm, camaraderie and love. The highlight for me was the DCM and appointed sharing.  It felt like the room was levitating during the appointed shares and I left the Quarterly on a spiritual high.  I also really enjoyed our Delegate Courtney’s report in the morning.  One thing I learned this quarterly in facilitating Discussion Topics is in the script in the beginning, I mention that it is suggested to not repeat what we have already heard at the mic.  This is to save time. However, during discussion, this suggestion conflicts with getting a real sense of the Area Committee’s conscience on a topic.  For example, if one person shares a popular conscience, and four others with the same conscience do share, then from the podium, it is hard to tell where the conscience of the committee is.  So, I intend to discuss this concept at the July Quarterly during the opening comments so we can hear from everyone, even if it takes longer, so we all can get a sense of the conscience of the room. 

Pre-Assemblies in August

Great job to our DCMs who really responded and met with me at the Quarterly to organize their district groupings for our upcoming Pre-Assemblies.  Here are the final results so save the dates:

  • Saturday, August 2nd: Eastside Districts (18, 33, 34, 35, 36, 38, and 39)
  • Sunday, August 3rd: Online District 25 (open to all) via Zoom
  • Saturday, August 9th: Pierce County Districts (9, 29, 43, 44, 45, 54)
  • Sunday, August 10th: Southern Districts (7, 8, 21, 27, 28, 37)
  • Saturday, August 16th: Northern Districts (2, 3, 4, 11, 12, 19, 24, 46)
  • Sunday, August 17th: Peninsula Districts (10, 22, 55, 56) 
  • Wednesday, August 20th: Virtual District 25 and Catch-All via Zoom 6pm to 9pm
  • Saturday, August 23rd: Central (Seattle) Districts (14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 31, 32, 40, 41, 42)
  • Sunday, August 24th: Spanish Speaking Districts (1, 57, 58) 

Locations and times are still to be determined, and you can check for that on the Area Events calendar.  As the districts confirm dates and times it will be posted on our website along with flyers.  I have requested all locations times and flyers be completed by the July Quarterly.
