Position: Area Treasurer
Since the election, I have been working diligently with the outgoing Treasurer and Alt. Treasurer in understanding the Area finances and the processes in doing this position. Derek S. and I met on a Sunday afternoon to scan and deposit all the October contributions. It was thrilling to rip open the envelopes and find the groups had donated to the Area and see the physical act of being self-supporting. As we entered the information to make sure each group got assigned their contribution, I quickly realized the importance of their District Number. Area 72 QuickBooks system searches by District Number and as wonderful it is to see the group name and group number, I am urging and actually begging…..PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have the groups treasurers put your District Number on the checks when sending in the contribution. Pretty Pretty Please😊 This will be my ask every Quarter and every time I get the opportunity to speak to your Districts or Groups this rotation.
I also got to be involved in creating the 2025 Budget. What an exhilarating process. Getting up to my elbow in expenses and line items. I was in my element. But what I quickly realized is we will need to be hyper aware of where the money is being spent and to make sure we stay on track to what contributions we are receiving. I am honored to be trusted with this fiscal responsibility and look forward to keeping you updated over the next 2 years.
