Corrections

Hi Everyone!!  So much has happened!!  I just have to say that the Area 72 Corrections Committee is the best!  Everyone is ON FIRE to carry the message to the hand reaching out for it.  I feel so humbled to participate in AA’s Third Legacy of Service.  Service keeps AA running and helps members stay sober. As the saying goes, “You can’t keep it unless you give it away.”  Service allows me to forget about myself.  I am such a great alcoholic that I often forget that everything isn’t about me. More recently, I’ve been reminded to look for evidence of grace.  And I can honestly say the evidence is overwhelming.  Grace is all around.  I attend an LGBTQIA meeting on Monday mornings that is run by incarcerated AA members, and this has become one of my favorite meetings that I go to.  Service allows me to be humble.  It’s not about prestige or power—it’s about humility, gratitude, and responsibility.  It’s about a real and honest connection.  It’s about you.
