Corrections Chair

I am writing to you after having the very first Corrections quarterly last weekend (March 15). As a newly appointed chairwoman, a lot of things are new. I am grateful for my time as district 3’s district committee member as I learned how to plan meetings and events. The main thing I’ve learned is that I do nothing alone in general service. It’s one of my favorite things about service. Fortunately, for me, there are members of the corrections committee that really showed up for the quarterly and if it weren’t for them the event would have been a mess! My job was to make the agenda, find the speaker (shout out to past delegate Keith M. for an amazing message), and make sure the meeting ran in an orderly fashion. Any event or meeting I’ve planned in general service I’ve not done alone. Sometimes my ego creeps up and tells me “I’ve got this” and that is a recipe for disaster for me. To those of the corrections committee that stepped up for our first quarterly, thank you from the bottom of my heart! This is going to be a great rotation!
