Public Information

Our Public Information committees are actively engaged in forming new committees, organizing workshops, and distributing essential literature—including Big Books, Plain Language Big Books, and Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions—to local libraries. We are pleased to welcome newly elected District PI chairs and remain committed to expanding our outreach efforts.

We are eagerly anticipating our upcoming PI Quarterly on May 10th, where we will host a presentation and practice session on conducting workshops and speaking at non-A.A. meetings. Through these efforts, we ensure that the public is well-informed about who we are and what we do, carrying the message to those still struggling with alcoholism.

As Bill W. wrote in A.A.’s Legacy of Service“Concerning any given service, we therefore pose but this one question. Is this service really needed? If it is then maintain it we must, or fail in our mission to those who need and seek A.A.”

A thorough understanding of A.A.’s traditions is essential for effective Public Information work. Collaborating with the public to support active alcoholics is a vital service, as many of us have received help through employers, law enforcement, or the courts. By fostering a deeper understanding of Alcoholics Anonymous, we break down barriers, dispel misinformation, and clarify misconceptions. The rest, we entrust to our Higher Power.

In Love and Service,
