I suppose when it comes to forming a group conscious, I see it as my duty to provide an informed opinion. And if that opinion is one that has no idea about the subject then to sit back and listen. I have heard that we have 2 ears and 1 mouth, so we should be listening twice as much as we talk. This gives us the opportunity to be a part of vs forcing our ideas on the situation. To allow the moment to change us vs us doing our best to get our opinion out there so we influence the situation. When I practice step 3 I can observe the world from a place of humility. I have found that when I do this my opinion carries a little more weight without it sounding like I’m trying to tell everyone how they should think. When you speak softly your voice can carry far, so I hear.
Bringing this back to group conscious I would say it is all of our duty to put our thoughts out there but then equally as important to respect what it is the group decides. Once the decision is made then we move past it and don’t get stuck in mind set that what I had to say was super important and if everyone would just listen then everything would go perfectly.
