Treatment Report

Until December 31st I was the DCM of District 39, one of my favorite service positions.

The accomplishments of District 39 during the fourth quarter of 2024 were wonderful. We had a fantastic turn out for the District 39 Gratitude Dinner. I wish to thank everyone who attended and made the event a huge success.  The members of District 39 and the event volunteers are always wonderful, but this year we needed so many more volunteers due to the increased attendance and they were over-the-top outstanding. I am so appreciative of the beautiful, kind and supportive people who showed up to volunteer to make that event so successful. Volunteering brings joy and unity into all fellowship activities.

District 39 Panel 73 Accomplishments:

  • District 39 had elections for new standing chair and board positions and it was very successful. Many new people were recruited by Rob and many people decided to step forward for positions they had been considering for a while. I am so proud of their courage.
  • I absolutely loved being the DCM for District 39. The members of District 39 will always hold a warm place in my heart. I want them all to know that I will always be their biggest cheerleader.

I am excited to watch from a distance the growth and accomplishments of District 39 during Panel 75. I have listened to the plans and dreams of the new DCM, Rob M. It sounds like this next rotation will be full of great new ideas and fun.

Area 72 Treatment Committee Goals and Dreams for the future:

  • I have really enjoyed getting briefed and trained for my new service commitment; Area Treatment Chair by Joyce, the outgoing Area Treatment Chair. She is a very organized, productive and kind person. I believe her tutoring and guidance will set me well on the road to success.
  • My first goal is to get a support group together with a Treatment Secretary and Bridging the Gap person, to help coordinate all of the Area 72 bridges. I will always plan to be prepared ahead of time. Joyce has been very instrumental in the areas she thinks would be important to address quickly. I am so grateful that one of AA’s legacies is unity. That to me means we strive to help others to succeed, especially the still suffering Alcoholic. That is my goal!
